Moon Mythology

Representing depth, darkness and mystery, this lunar orb was awed and feared in early cultures as the celestial reflection of the feminine principle. Her capacity to fill the night with shining splendour or plunge it into deepest blackness was seen as mysterious and terrifying. Known as Queen of the night sky, she was worshipped for her glowing beauty and luminescent power. -As told by Roslyne Sophia Breillat

The feminine energy within the moon connects us to our intuition and emotions. This is the place where we can find real joy, happiness,
and self-love. If we connect to the moon on a spiritual level, we can reconnect to our life’s true purpose.

The moon is truly our best source for tapping into our inner feminine energy. When we attune to the moon — and come to it with a set of intentions — we operate with deeper connectivity to our higher self. It is from this space that we can connect deeper to whatever we individually connect to, (otherwise known as God, Universe, or Spirit).

Hecate

NOVEMBER 16

Interestingly enough, November 16 is the night, beginning at sundown, for one day to honor Hecate. She embodies the dark shadows while embracing the light. Sort of like the dark of night with the light of the full moon.

As the sun goes down tonight, November 16 The Night of Hecate, I honor her. Hekate is considered by many as the protectress of the oppressed, the marginalized, and witches. As the Goddess of the in-between, the liminal spaces, the boundaries, and the transitional times of life including birth and death, she carries a torch for illumination.

NOVEMBER 17

And the following night after honoring our beautiful and dark Hekate, the Hindu’s celebrate a goddess in a similar way.

Kali

Deity of today, honored on November 17th, is the Hindu goddess Kali.

Kali is the Hindu goddess (or Devi) of death, time, and doomsday and is often associated with sexuality and violence but is also considered a strong mother-figure and symbolic of motherly-love. Kali also embodies shakti – feminine energy, creativity and fertility.

She embodies the feeling of the season. As we move into full moon lunar phase and deeper into winter, things are changing, dying and being reborn. What a beautiful cycle we are all able to take part in!
